Dear Parent or Guardian,

My name is Kyle Sharrard and I will be teaching Physical Education to your son or daughter. I can be reached for contact at  by e-mail LIlSharrard4313@hotmail.com any time concerning your son or daughter's education.

My job in this class is to teach your son or daughter not just sports but how to become physically active for the rest of their lives! We will engage in fun activities that teach the students how to become active outside of Physical Education class.

Below I have listed expectations that I have for the most important individuals in your child's life the student, parents and the teacher.

Student Expectations:

The expectations are a set of rules that we use in the classroom, which should promote a safe learning enviroment for all students. The expectations also support social responsibility within the classroom as the student develops well guided team working skills, which are essential for future success in the classroom and throughout life in both professional and leisure activity. It is expected that all students should learn these rules, as they are an integral part of their self-assessment.

Students will:

-Wear clothing and footwear appropriate for activity

-Participate, and work cooperatively with the teacher and peers.

    -Follow directions

    -Participate safely

Parent Expectations:

According to the Surgeon General, physical inactivity is one of the leading causes of heart disease and mortality in our country. Parents should support and promote healthy, active living through their own habits and practices outside of the classroom. Parents are encouraged to discuss their child's progress with them and to communicate to teachers. Parents ought to read the expectations for their child in order to achieve a safe and fun PE enviroment. Parents should also encourage their children to be active outside of school making sure that they are practicing the skills we learn in class.

Teacher Expectations:

Physical education in schools is the cornerstone of an active lifestyle for all students. School PE programs provide the skills, knowledge and attitudes that facilitate choosing physical activity at home, at school and in the community. As a physical educator, I pledge to:

-Establish a positive, safe learning enviroment for all students

-Assess the development of your child

-Promote student honesty, integrity, and good sportsmanship

-Create many opportunities for students of all abilities to be successful

-Assist students in setting and achieving personal fitness goals

-Prepare and encourage students to gain skills and be active for a lifetime

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's education please feel free to contact me at my e-mail at anytime. I am looking forward to a great year as your child's teacher!!
